Here’s a zero pressure, no-frills one night workshop to get you started knitting, or to brush some rust off those needles, without having to commit to a 2-3 week class.

Learn how to cast on and knit.  That’s all you need to start!  If you’re speedy and complete the project, you’ll learn how to bind off as well.  Otherwise, just stop in anytime and we’ll teach you on the spot.  You’ll make a simple washcloth and learn the basics (including how to purl, if you like).  with a nice bar of soap, you’ll have a great gift!

Suitable for ages 10+ wanting to learn the basics to get started or for anyone wanting to dust off those needles and get a refresher course.  Those wanting to learn a new technique (how to make a cable, for example) are also welcome!

Materials for washcloth (for other projects, please discuss with the shop):

*1 skein of cotton yarn
*Size 8 needles – straight or circular
*Yarn needle (optional to start, but needed eventually for sewing in ends)
*Crochet hook (options, but a useful tool in case of dropped stitches)
