Join us for an outing to Valhalla Yarns Saturday, May 3rd!

Come experience how the magic happens during our ranch outing to San Gregorio! We have been graciously invited to Valhalla Yarns at Pomponio Ranch, home of the local yarn we sell at Fengari, to talk all things fiber. 

We’ll meet at the ranch between 10:00-10:15 am and owner Signe Ostby and ranch manager Chris will begin their presentation at 10:30 when they'll speak about the animals of Pomponio Ranch and the work being done to restore the land through holistic grazing management.

The presentation will include information about caring for the animals, processing their fleeces, the significance of micron count and how the squishy skeins of yarn finally end up in your hands!

Then, we'll move on to the barn to visit the sheep and alpacas and meet the new spring babies! 

We’ll enjoy lunch and refreshments about 12:30, during which there will be a Q&A session and continued discussion about fiber production. After lunch there will be an opportunity for shopping and wandering, taking in the breathtaking views of the ranch.

Good (closed-toed) walking shoes and comfortable (layered - take this seriously - it can get windy and cold up there!) clothing are recommended. If you go into the sheep pens, you'll mostly likely step in some sheep poo poo, so choose your shoes accordingly! ;-)

The cost of the outing is $80, which includes the tour and presentation, lunch, refreshments and a swag bag! (Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions).
